Precious Mementos

So this month there is a collaboration going on between CSI and Once upon a sketch.

This is is the fabulous current case file, combined with the awesome sketch created by Nadia of OUAS.

The case and sketch were fabulous to work with and my layout came together really easy.

Here is my DT example layout:

"precious mementos"

Background story:
As many of you know , my son Lachlan was born and passed away 40 minutes later. in December last year. The photo in the layout is of a very special statue a dear friend gave me in honour of Lachlan.

I have hidden journalling on a tag, which pulls out with the green doily on the right hand side of the page.
The journalling is quite personal but I will share with you.
Oh and it's written in a newspaper article type format as that was one of the criteria for the testimony for the case file.

" On the 29th of December 2011, a baby boy Lachlan James was born. His parents Sarah and Dwight of.... , welcomed him with loving arms. Sadly he passed away 40 minutes later from a severe incurable heart defect. Sarah and Dwight have been surrounded by love from friends and family and are grateful for the many precious mementos they have received in honour of their deceased newborn son. Sarah and Dwight take comfort in knowing they will be reunited one day with their son and together as a whole family again".

Always stop to smell the roses

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great weekend.

I have been a pretty slack blogger of late. So I have a few posts I will be sharing with you.

Below I have 2 layouts that I made as a Designer for the Scrapbooking Top 50 Amazing Race and there are layouts I made for my GDT position at Ah Scrap.

Now you need to make sure you get on over to the SBT50 Amazing race. We are scrapping/card making our way around the world. There are amazing prizes up for grabs and you can join in at any time. The competition is great as the major prize winner will be drawn not based on skill but based on the lucky winner pulled from the tickets entered. So no matter your skill level you can win!

The awesome major prizes you must check out here.
And each individual country/continent , detour/roadblock challenge has prizes to be won too.

Now if you haven't heard of Ah Scrap you must check out the gorgeous goodies on the blog here and facebook page here. Ah Scrap is a sponsor on The SBT50 amazing race too.
