Believe

Happy friday everyone! Looking for some great scrappy challenges over the weekend!? Then pop on over to Show us your stuff. We have the monthly Sophie's corner challenge for all Junior scrappers out there. And now both the Group 1 April challenge and the Group 2 april challenge have been posted

Here is my design sample for the Group 2 challenge  which is based on this super cute inspiration pic:

From the picture I have taken inspiration with the red and green colours, the polka dots and the mushrooms (I have two mushroom embellies on my layout).
I have used the "try this technique" this month which is quilling. I did basic quilling to create minature curls and a long trailed rbbon of quilling. It was quick, easy and fun to do.
Can you find the 3 lovely lollipops and page runner that I used on this layout from Charm's Creations?! Other handmade goodies by Rainbow splendour, Purple Pumpkin, The Chip Chop shop and D-lish scraps

So you should give this challenge a go! You have until midnight May 15th to get your entries in and there are super prized to be won!

Please pop on over to Show us your stuff and enter both the challenges and why not encourage your children or any other Junior scrappers you know to play along with Sophie's corner challenge

Little Angel

Hi all I hope you are having a great weekend.

I want to share my final guest design layout for my "special investigator" position at CSI for March.I have loved all the case files there and it was such an honour to be a guest designer there.

Case file number 13 I have used to create a layout about my angel Lachlan's and a photo from his funeral, I am not being morbid with the layout but rather documenting just how beautiful his resting place is. Obviously Lachlan's death was a very sad and aweful thing for us to experience but it helps me to remember the beautiful things too that surrounded his passing.

"Evidence used"
Hearts
Fibre (threads)
Elements tucked in bottom corner with paper rolled up to show them

"Testimony":
I chose to go with the "write on central idea and four supporting details as inspired by the pinwheel and the 4 parts coming of it"
My journalling is hidden on a pull down tab under the title and it reads:

"We bought you a beautiful white coffin lined with soft fabric.
Inside we layed you, wrapped in a blanket knitted by granny.
Next to you we placed a letter we wrote to you.
We placed next to you 2 special toys and a heart pendant which we have kept half of.
No resting place could be too beautiful for you my sweet angel."

Check out the gorgeous cream page runner I have used on here from Charm's creations. It adds so much texture to the page.

Products used:
The paper loft and My mind eye patterned paper
Hambly journalling bits
Prima flowers, butterfly and packaging
Little yellow bicycle heart pin
Dusty attic chipboard
Making memories rub ons
Tattered angels chalboard mist
D-lish scraps; twine, bottle cap, flowers and pearl sprays
Charms creations page runner
Lovely bug bits n bobs button
Vintage doilies
Acrylic paints
Helmers scrap dots
3d foam tape
Machine stitching

Wednesday 11 April 2012

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my new blog.
Thank you for following and for your lovely comments.

As some of you know 2011 ended sadly for me- my 2nd child, a boy was born prematurely on the 29th December- he lived for 40 minutes before passing away. We named him Lachlan James.

As you can imagine it was a devastating event for us and we have been meandering our way through the grieving process. What a journey it is!
Scrapping is helping me so much with that. You will see a few layouts I have done in honour of Lachlan.
But I'm also still enjoying doing other layouts of my daughter mainly : )

I have been blessed to have had lots of exciting scrappy news this year.....

I' m on the Show us your stuff design team - if you haven't already you really must check it out, it's an awesome challenge blog site, with lots of exciting challenges. It has one constant criteria- handmade goodies.

I was a march special investigator for the newish challenge site Color stories inspirations. Check it out. It really is inspiring!

I have become a moderator at Scrapbooking top 50 forum and I am filling in the designer role of Sue plumb, a lovely lady, whom I'm sure many of you know. She is pregnant with twins and has been unwell and busy so Im filling in her designer role until she is ready to return. The SBT50 forum is really so much fun and super friendly. We have challenges, cyber crops, craft markets, swaps and so much more.

Oh and Im guest designer this month for one of my favourite handcrafted scrap goodies companies- Charm's creations!

So I have a lot of layouts to share with you all that I didn't post on my old blog due to issues with google friend connect.

Feel free to check out my tabs with my layouts from 2010-2012 in the mean time.

Thanks for following
